The rug production is concentrated in the city itself and the surrounding villages, such as Ushvand. The rugs share many characteristics with Hamadan rugs; they have simple warps and wefts, with a wool pile and cotton warp and weft. The patterns can best be described as rural interpretations of classical patterns, with a central medallion and corners. They have warm colours, different nuances of red, as well as brown, blue, and green.
